African Unity’s When Will It Stop music video.

Four months after the '1992 LA Uprising' I created and directed this music video for the hip hop group African Unity. In the burnt-out shadows of destroyed lives and buildings, we filmed on location around parts of LA. The background genesis of this music video was the savage beating of a black man named Rodney King, who was nearly clubbed to death by four LA Police officers. Fortunately, an amateur cameraman captured the beating with his video camera (pre-iPhone) and the world watched in horror as these four police officers beat Rodney King for approximately 15 minutes. The four officers were tried by a practically all-white jury and were acquitted. The 'LA Uprising' began three hours after the acquittal verdict. To read more about what happened, click the link:
